How about a 2-hour boat tour on the Tarcolas River where you can, on average, see about 60 species of birds, along with lizards, crocodiles, and other life forms. The tour also includes an excursion along a canal that borders a mangrove forest.
Two commercial companies that I am familiar with, and recommend, are "Jungle Crocodile Safari" and "Mangrove Birding". Both provide excellent, knowledgeable guide service.
