The Rescue Center was established for the purpose of conserving Costa Rica's wildlife.
It is the oldest of its kind with over 30 years of experience in rehabilitating wildlife, breeding endangered species (e.g. the Scarlet Macaw), preserving habitat and providing a lifetime of care. The Center has over 800 species of animals representing 125 species, including sloths, monkeys, tapirs, jaguars, birds and reptiles.
It is located in Alajuela, about 20 minutes from the Juan Santa Maria International Airport.
